"In the Back of My Mind" symbolises resilience and the ability of women to shine brightly, no matter the circumstances. Like the lone red flower, the woman in this painting has reached a stage of joy and independence, who finds strength and contentment within themselves. This work celebrates the role of self-reliance and inner happiness, embodying the power that comes from standing tall in one’s truth.

FEELS LIKE WASTING TIME

SOLD

Original painting acrylic on canvas framed in oak edge frame.

Dimensions: H113cm x W153cm x 6cm

For me this painting captures the beauty of stillness and the quiet power of being present. "Wasting time" is seen here not as a loss, but as a luxury—a moment to breathe, reflect, and simply be. The piece embodies the role of the contemplative woman, who finds meaning in the pauses between life’s busier moments. Inspired by the idea that the most meaningful experiences are often those that seem unproductive, this work celebrates the importance of slowing down to appreciate life’s simple, fleeting moments of peace.

THE VEILS BETWEEN WORLDS

Original painting acrylic on canvas framed in oak edge frame.

Dimensions: H113cm x 153cm x 6cm

Inspired by the poignant phrase from The Seven Skins of Esther Wilding, this painting explores the delicate interplay between the seen and unseen, the known and the unknown. Layered with ethereal hues and soft, flowing forms, "Veils Between Worlds" symbolises the hidden narratives that weave through our lives—myths, memories, and the subtle whispers of grief that accompany our journeys. The veils represent the layers of existence, inviting viewers to reflect on the stories that shape us and the connections that transcend time and space. This piece celebrates the beauty found in storytelling, the richness of our shared experiences, and the profound truths that lie within the delicate fabric of life.

This painting captures the pure joy of being a mum and living through the adventures of your children as they grow up and explore the world. "Vicarious Living" reflects the happiness of sharing in their journeys, like my daughter Phoebe’s recent trip to Greece and Italy with her friends. The lively colours and playful shapes bring to life the excitement of travel and the beautiful moments they create. There’s something truly special about experiencing their joy and wonder from afar, reminding us that part of the magic of motherhood is finding joy in their experiences as they carve out their own paths.

lady violet

Evoking a sense of quiet elegance and mystery, the rich violet tones symbolise wisdom, dignity, and a depth of experience, while the pale green background brings a sense of calm and balance. "Lady Violet" represents a woman of grace and resilience, much like a noble figure from myth or history—strong, poised, and commanding respect without needing to demand it. This piece celebrates the power that comes from understated beauty and inner strength, and a little bit in remembrance of the wonderful actor Maggie Smith.

STORM CHILD, MADE OF WILD & FLAME

Original painting acrylic on canvas framed in oak edge frame.

Dimensions: 103cm x 123cm x 6cm

"Storm Child, of Wild & Flame" represents the spirit of women who embrace their strength, unafraid to challenge norms and stand tall in their truth. This piece speaks to the fierce, untamed nature of femininity, celebrating the power that arises when women harness their inner storms and refuse to be subdued.

THE SEA IN HER HAIR

This painting captures the essence of a woman whose strength is intertwined with nature. Waves of raspberry and plum flow through her hair, representing the sea’s depth and fluidity. Each mark tells a story—of struggle, triumph, and the passage of time. The botanical shapes that intertwine with these colours represent growth and the layers of experience that shape a woman’s identity. "Stories on Her Skin" honours the voices of women throughout the ages, celebrating their courage to share their journeys in a world that often seeks to silence them. Together with "The Sea in Her Hair," these paintings reflect the beauty and complexity of women’s stories and their unwavering strength.

THE GOLDEN IN BETWEEN

For me this painting radiates warmth and nostalgia.  The colours evoke the gentle transition between summer and autumn, capturing the essence of a softer kind of summer, where the sun hangs lower in the sky. "The Golden In Between" reflects the fleeting beauty of this in-between season, reminiscent of childhood summers spent in England. It symbolises the magic of moments that linger, celebrating the warmth and light that come before the cool embrace of autumn, a time of reflection and gentle change.

UNTAMED

Dimensions: 83cm x 83cm x 6cm

"Untamed" celebrates the wild, uncontainable beauty of both the natural world and the untamed woman. With vivid colours and organic shapes, this painting reflects how nature, like women, flourishes in its own way—unrestricted, unapologetic, and fiercely alive. The wildflower, symbolic of freedom and resilience, grows where it wills, thriving in unexpected places. This piece honours the woman who embraces her wildness, her independence, and her power, reminding us that beauty is often found in the unplanned and untamed paths we follow.

DANCE LIKE SUNSHINE

Original painting acrylic on canvas framed in oak edge frame.

Dimensions: 83cm x 83cm x 6cm

This flower reflects a woman in her element—radiant and unrestrained, much like the sun itself. Drawing on the myth of Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess, this painting celebrates the role of light-bringer, the one who illuminates life with warmth and optimism. It’s a reminder of the strength found in embracing joy and living fully in the moment.

FOREST QUEEN

Original painting acrylic on canvas framed in oak edge frame.

Dimensions: 83cm x 83cm x 6cm

The woman, depicted as the "Forest Queen," embodies the wisdom and strength of ancient forest guardians like the Celtic goddess Flidais, known as the protector of the woods and for her wonderful hair. She stands as a symbol of both sovereignty and nurturing, ruling her domain with quiet confidence. The trees, leaves, and forest creatures surrounding her represent the deep connection between women and nature, reflecting the role of protector, caregiver, and wise guide in the cycles of life. This piece honours the regal, grounded strength that women bring to their worlds.
